Roughneck Job Openings on Offshore Oil Rigs!

Roughneck Job Openings on Offshore Oil Rigs!-Salary

Roughneck job openings on offshore oil rigs are continually being opened and filled by able-bodied men and women all over the world. If you have an interest in an oil business career, you couldn't pick a more garage job in today's economy. This article will briefly by comparison oil rig job descriptions, what to reconsider if you want to get hired and finally...reliable resources you can use to fill a roughneck job opportunity as soon as this week.

Salary

First, a bit about nautical oil rigs and their crews.

The world needs oil, and Roughnecks make oil supplies possible. In return, these hard workers are compensated well, receiving a year's salary for only six months worth of work. But besides paid vacation and numerous benefits, by getting hired on an offshore oil rig you won't be forced to do the same job forever...in fact, you'll most likely develop through the levels of leadership fairly quickly, studying an invaluable trade looked at extremely by other future employers. That is, if you ever resolve to leave the profession!

Here is a list of job openings you'd see on a nautical operation:

  • Roustabout
  • Roughneck
  • Toolpusher
  • Crane Operator
  • Scaffolder
  • Painter
  • Derrickman
  • Cook
  • Night Baker
  • Steward/ess

Because "roughneck" is a generic term used loosely to describe manual labor positions on a rig, it is helpful to understand the job article breakdown for entry level or semi-experienced oil workers. For example, a Roustabout is a brand new crew member, typically complicated in deck maintenance and miscellaneous supportive job duties. A Roughneck is an actual term used to describe key members of the drill crew. They take care of the drill and ensure that it is working properly, along with other drilling connected activities.

Generally speaking, roughneck job openings are available regularly...but the competition is immense. On average, one thousand men and women search daily for roughneck job openings on offshore rigs. That's the bad news.

The good news?

Only a handful of those folks indeed shape out how to apply correctly (as rigs are looking for specific format and information)...and get hired within a matter of weeks. Others indeed wait for years waiting for a response, assuming no jobs are available. This couldn't be added from the truth! Because new hires are constantly advancing through the ranks, new spots free-up rapidly.

It Costs How Much to Replace an Employee?

It Costs How Much to Replace an Employee?-Salary

Retaining your good employees

Salary

The Right people in the Right Places

Studies show that the median cost to replace a employee in the Us is ,000.00 (Average!!). Some Hr managers use the rule of thumb that anything the person's each year salary is - it will cost that much to replace them. One study evaluating the effects of the Us family healing Leave Act found that "turnover costs for a boss median 150% of salary, including real costs of hiring... And intangible costs such as the new worker's inefficiency and lost productivity while the job is vacant."

Costs of lost productivity are as important as direct costs such as advertising or temporary staff. Total costs indubitably reach 150% of the each year compensation. The cost will be significantly higher (200% to 250%) for managerial and sales positions.

Bliss & company Inc., Wayne, Nj consulting firm

Oh, and if you think you can just hire temporary workers and avoid all those costs, think again. The cost of hiring and getting production from a temporary employee is nearly 40% of their salary, and temporary workers tend to have higher hourly rates than permanent ones - and higher turnover rates as well.

Let's put this in real terms.   The bottom estimate I have seen in any place says it will cost you at least 30% of an employee's total each year recompense to replace them. Assume you have 100 employees and your median salary is .00 per hour. At .00 per hour + benefits (at 20% of wages), your employees receive ~.00 hour in wages and benefits. Let's say that you have to replace 15% of your employees every year. Taking the most conservative assessment for employee turnover costs that I have been able to find (30% of their each year wages and benefits); each employee you have to replace is costing you ,488.00.

100 employees X 15% X 88 (including benefits) = 2,320 per year.

And that is using the most conservative cost percentage I can find. If we conclude to use the national median (,000 / supplanted employee) the cost goes to 5,000.00. By using the 'rule-of-thumb' (100% of their each year salary - ,800.00/ supplanted employee), the cost will go to 2,000.00... Staggering!

Why are the costs so high?

Why does it cost so much to replace a departing employee? Some costs, like paying off accrued vacation time or the cost of a help-wanted ad, are obvious.

Other costs include:

  • Increased unemployment guarnatee costs
  • Lost productivity while there is a vacancy
  • Time costs for the separation (Exit) interview (If your good employees are leaving, you Need to know why)
  • Separation bargain costs (legal, financial, medical, seclusion cash-out, etc.)
  • Overtime from other employees to deal with the vacancy (which can lead to burn-out or absenteeism)
  • Time costs to recite resumes
  • Time costs to interview candidates
  • Interview expenses for the candidates
  • Possible travel expenses
  • Possible relocation expenses
  • Head-hunter or signing bonus fees
  • Additional bookkeeping; payroll, 401k, etc.
  • Additional narrative keeping for government agencies
  • Reduced productivity while the new employee gets up to speed
  • Training programs
  • Corporate history lost
  • Morale can be affected
  • Intellectual property lost

There are also risks associated with loosing an employee.

  • Threat of lawsuit
  • Bad Pr from disgruntled employee
  • Threat that the employee will take clients to a new firm

What can be done about it?

Job descriptions:

Put together a faultless job narrative with tasks and duties outlined in a clear and brief way so that when someone answers your want ad, they know what they are applying for. Minimize that catch-all phrase "Other duties as assigned". This way, the employee knows what is startling of the position and the boss knows what to value for doing reviews.

Pre & Post employment testing:

Job match/satisfaction can be measured by using the testing and assessment systems that are ready through Rp2-Consulting. The cost of these assessment and testing programs is significantly less than the cost of turnover in the first example above. We can test a candidate before they even show up for an interview and tell you if they have the right attitude, will show up for work when startling and won't take all in the supply cabinet home with them. We can match new candidates to a given position. We have all heard of the 'Peter Principle' (an private rises to his level of incompetence). We can look at your existing employees and match their skills and personalities with open positions in the organization. We can also help you recognize the right people to put on teams. When teams are balanced (one person's strengths cover other person's weaknesses), results are significantly improved. Finally, managers (and Ceo's) need to know their strengths and weaknesses, as those who work with them realize them. Testing can show you what your true strengths and weaknesses are so that you can focus on enhancing those things that need to be improved.

Training:

Expecting someone to produce when they do not know how to produce, or what results are needed is absurd. Yet every day, people are hired to do jobs in which they have little or no formal training. Make sure that your employees get the training and advice they need to meet your expectations. This will lead to good employee job satisfaction and reduced supervision stress. As a requisite side benefit, well-trained employees are more likely to win appreciation for a job well done; and appreciation and recognition among your peers is a huge motivator. We can help you develop your training programs to meet your private needs.

Leadership:

The best plans and initiatives are all for naught if your leadership does not focus on what is working and where you want to go. Have you ever been backing out of your driveway focused on the trash-can you had to avoid hitting at all costs - it's right there in the mirror, just behind the vehicle, if you hit it your whole morning will be ruined - and like a laser, you run right into it...

We go where we focus. One key to your success is to focus on retaining your employees. Working to make them successful is far less high-priced than replacing them. Treating them with respect and honor while making them feel like they have a stake in the firm and its success will lead to your success. Focus on where you want to go not where you don't want to go. Looking at mistakes and Looking fault is focusing on the past and the errors made there. Learn from mistakes and move on. Plan the future your assosication wants. Focus on applauding success, both individually and for the team/company.

Without them can you dream what things would be like?

For instance in Nyc the trash union went on assault and garbage piled up and soon it was a huge problem, rats and rodents everywhere, why? Simple, the trash pick-up is that important to us. Greek Mythology Hercules - The Mortal Who Became a God

When Hercules was born to Alcmene, she named him Herakles. But in Roman, Herakles is pronounced Hercules, which is the name we use for Hercules to this day. Hercules in Greek mythology is a great shape of valor and muscle strength. Hercules bravery earned him a place among the gods. After he left the mortal world, he found a position on Mount Olympus, the gods' dwelling place.

Zeus, the King of the gods was an unfaithful husband. He had a weakness for worldly pleasures. He fell in love with Alcmene, the wife of Amphitryon. In a short time, Alcmene conceived Hercules. This angered Hera and she tried to kill Hercules. Hercules survived his first fatal assault with a miracle.

When Hercules reached adulthood he became a preponderant warrior. He also fell in love with a gorgeous woman called Megara. Megara became the mom of Hercules' children and together they made a happy family. However, things were to be different. Hera took a vow to irritate Hercules while his lifetime. She tricked Hercules into a wild rage. In his rage, the mortal god Hercules killed his family. This was exactly what Hera wanted!

When Hercules returned to his normal state of mind, he saw things were beyond remedy. He prayed to Apollo to get rid of his crime. Apollo was the sun god who could read into the future. We find in Greek Mythology that Hercules requested his advice. Apollo assigned him ten foremost tasks (later it was turned to twelve) as the way of purifying his soul.

The Delphic oracle sent him to Tiryns where the king Eurystheus ruled. Hercules was anticipated to serve him as worker for twelve years of his life. However, the difficult assistance was not fruitless. Apollo promised him immortality. He was to become a god. However, the great Hercules of greek mythology had one problem, Hera. She certainly kept her promise to make Hercules' life as wretched as she could. Nevertheless, with the assistance of Hermes and Athena, Hercules pulled off his term of twelve years with excellence. In addition, he became the greatest mortal on the earth to become a god.

Hercules In Greek Mythology - What Made Him So Special?

The honorable penance of Hercules and his eventual success is what makes him so special. His success brought him immortality, which would have been unthinkable for ordinary mortals. Hercules' first task was to peel off the skin of the horrifying Nemean Lion after capturing one. His next task was to kill The Lernean Hydra. The Lernean Hydra was a serpent with nine heads, which never gave peace to the lives of those nearby it. The third task for him was to bring a Hind (a sacred red deer) from Ceryneia to the king. The deer was the pet of Diana, the Moon goddess.

The fourth task for Hercules was to bring a live Erymanthian Boar. It was very hazardous to men and animals living nearby the mountain Erymanthus. Then Hercules was asked to clean up King Augeas' stables in one day. Are you thinking what is so great about it? King Augeas had an awesome whole of cattle of cows, bulls, goats, sheep and horses. Hercules proposed to King Augeas that he would clean the stable only if he rewarded Hercules with a tenth of his cattle.

After this success, Eurystheus was planning to make something tougher for Hercules. He commanded Hercules to force out an colossal flock of birds, which assembled at a lake near the town of Stymphalos. Goddess Athena helped him with a pair of bronze krotala, an item similiar to castanets. The Cretan Bull was an easy task for Hercules. Hercules wrestled the bull, and then delivered it back to King Eurystheus.

The eighth task was to bring the Man-Eating Horses of Diomedes. It was followed by the battle against the Amazonian female army to get the belt of Hippolyte, the queen. The tenth labor was an awesome one. Hercules had to go nearby the world, to bring the cattle of the Monster Geryon. It had three heads and three sets of legs all attached at the waist.

The tricky assignment was the eleventh one. Eurystheus asked Hercules to get the Apples of the Hesperides. These were the golden apples gifted by Hera to Zeus. These apples were strictly guarded by a hundred-headed dragon, named Ladon, and also by Hesperides, daughters of Atlas. The other obstacle was that Hercules had no idea where these apples of Hesperides were located. Eventually, Hercules found the location from Nereus whom he seized until Nereus gave him the location of the apples of Hesperides.

Then Hercules found out straight through Prometheus, whom Hercules had helped, that he would have to have Atlas retrieve the apples. Hercules agreed to hold the sky and the earth while Atlas retrieved the apples. When Atlas returned with the apples, he told Hercules that if he would hold the sky and earth for the rest of time, that he would take them to Eurystheus himself. But Hercules fooled Atlas by asking him to hold the earth until he padded his shoulders. Atlas took Hercules place keeping the earth, and Hercules picked up the apples and ran.

After making the great Hercules do all sorts of anticipated errands, Eurystheus made sure that he did not supervene the last time. So, he ordered Hercules to abduct Cerberus, the underworld beast. Did you ever hear a living man visiting the Hades? However, Greek mythology tells us Hercules was no ordinary man. He was a hero.

He finally did unblemished all the tasks, purified his soul and rescued the princess of Troy from a ravenous sea-monster. He also facilitated Zeus to beat the Giants in a great battle for the control of Olympus. He married again, to the charming Deianira. She presented him a cloak, which was coated with what she mistakenly thought to be a magic love potion. She was told that the balm would make the person love her forever.

Ironically, it was poison, which burned Hercules skin. Hercules, not being able to feel the pain asked his friends to kindle a fire. Then Hercules placed himself on the fire to be burned up alive. But the gods looked down, and Zeus thought that Hercules had suffered enough. So he asked Hera to end her anger toward Hercules, which she did. Then Hercules was brought to Olympus in Athena's chariot by Zeus' request.

This Greek mortal Hercules is certainly the greatest hero of Greek Mythology. Hercules is still carefully to be the excellent mythical character.

Salary? How Much Should I Ask? Or Should I Ask?

As a work counselor, work guidance professional, Hr pro and staffing executive who has hired or settled 1,300+ individuals, many professionals including myself are starting to see signs of life in the economy resulting in open positions that will be filled.

Can you qualify?

Wait a minute, what about salary? What should be your response if you interview, and following the interview Hr asks about your salary expectations? How do you respond?

Here are some scenario's I advise for every position:

First, ask the Hr group to provide a salary range for the position prior to the interview. Also, explore for a range. I'm not a huge fan of web-sites that provide salaries since every business has a distinct set of objectives. You might be surprised how cooperative Hr will be. Remember, I've been in a Hr role and speak from experience.

Next, match your background against the requirements. A total or close to a requirements-match of 100% normally means the business could offer you a salary at or slightly above the 50th percentile of the salary range.

This is the time and place to negotiate salary!

And you must ask about the unblemished salary package: Base, Bonus, Vacation, Personal Days, Holidays, "volunteer" days, club memberships, phone / car allowance, telework, flextime, work training, etc. Put advantage consulation as a second topic since advantage expense is normally an worker cost, but advantage consulation is very important.

For more direct questions regarding salary, I would advise the following:

A) If you remained employed during the last several years, you can state your current salary. Remember, don't fudge the number, employers will check, or, in some instances want evidence of pay.

B) If you were downsized in the past few months, use your the last salary paid. This could generate a possible quandary. Let me assist:

- If you are interviewing for a "senior" level job, that is manager, director or above, there should have been a salary range provided. There could be a "disconnect" because your previous salary could be higher or lower than what will be offered.

In general, if you have been out of work for several months, ask Hr to provide a range and then you can make an assessment. The point is once a salary has been determined, and agreed, that's it. That's the salary you will use as your "start-point" for as long as you stay with the company.

If you provide a salary number, it may be too puny or too much. It is legitimately best to have the business go first.

Salary consulation may be the most difficult part of the interview. If you remain needing some discussion, please perceive a work professional. This may be one of the most leading steps you take.

To get into a dental college program, you need a high school diploma and have to pass a test. There are some dental programs that require a year of college too, but it depends on the school you want to attend. You should also make sure the dental school is on the approval list of the Commission on Dental Accreditation. Then, you also must get a license and pass a test for your state of employment.

The tests vary depending on the state. They are given by the American Dental Association's (Ada) Joint Commission on National Dental Examinations via a state or regional testing facility, so check your area for places to take your test. All in all the job of hygienist is thought about to be a good paying job. It all basically depends on the size of the state, the office or hospital environment, your degree and any other factors as to what money you finally get paid for a dental salary.
